My Cooking Techniques Masterclass is designed for home cooks who are ready to move from following recipes to truly cooking with skill. Over the course of the session, I walk you through the core methods that drive professional kitchens, then show you how to apply them in your own space without special equipment.

We start with heat: sautéing, searing, roasting, braising, and steaming. You learn what each method does to food, how to match it to the right ingredient, and how to tell by sight, sound, and aroma when something is cooked properly. I focus heavily on temperature control, pan selection, and the role of fat and moisture, so your food becomes evenly cooked instead of scorched or soggy.

From there, I introduce modern touches that still make sense at home, such as gentle low-and-slow oven work, quick pan reductions, and ways to build texture - crisp edges, tender centers, and balanced sauces. You practice timing multiple components of a dish so that proteins, vegetables, and starches all come together hot and ready to serve.

Seasoning and tasting are woven throughout the class. I teach you how to build flavor in layers, when to salt, how to use acidity for brightness, and where herbs and spices make the biggest difference. Plating is the final step: simple ways to arrange food so it looks inviting, not crowded, using color and height to your advantage.

By the end of the masterclass, you are not leaving with just a handful of recipes. You gain a toolkit - a clear understanding of the techniques that let you improvise confidently, rescue a dish that is going off track, and cook meals that feel restaurant-caliber while still being practical on a weeknight.
